Peak Mobile app

Privacy policy for the Peak Mobile app

Effective July 28, 2026

This policy covers the Peak Mobile iPhone app, which is a private work tool for employees of Peak Electrical Contracting Ltd. It is not a consumer app and it has no public sign-up. Access requires a personal sign-in link issued by the company to a current employee.

Everything below is written to comply with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which allows an employer to collect personal information that is reasonably needed to manage the employment relationship, with notice to the employee. This page is part of that notice.

What the app collects

Your identity on the crew roster. Your name, your role, and the sign-in token in your personal link. There is no password and we do not collect one.

Your work records. The hours you enter, the job each entry belongs to, your notes on the work, tools you check in and out, vehicle odometer readings you record, and the photos of receipts you submit. This is the information we need to bill jobs correctly and pay you correctly.

Your location. Two separate things, and they work differently:

Because the trail can run while the app is in your pocket, iOS shows the location indicator whenever it is active. Nothing about it is hidden from you.

Photos you take. Job-site photos, receipts, and tool photos, from the camera or from your photo library when you choose to attach one. The app reads only the photos you pick. It does not scan your library.

Voice you dictate. If you use the microphone button to dictate a photo description, the app records that audio and converts it to text using Apple's speech recognition, which may process the audio on Apple's servers depending on your device settings. We keep the resulting text, not the audio.

What the app does not do

No advertising. No advertising identifiers. No analytics or tracking software of any kind. Nothing is shared with data brokers, and nothing is ever sold. The app does not track you across other apps or websites. There is no third-party login. Reminders shown by the app, for example a nudge to clock out when you leave a site after hours, are generated on your own phone and are not sent through any outside service.

Why we collect it

To bill jobs accurately, to pay people accurately, to schedule work, and to keep the job records a licensed electrical contractor is expected to keep. The location trail exists for one reason: when a client questions an invoice, it lets us show the hours were real and on site. That protects the crew's hours as much as it protects the company.

Who sees it

The owner of Peak Electrical Contracting Ltd., for billing, scheduling and payroll. Nobody else at Peak sees another employee's location history. It is not shared with clients, and we do not hand out raw coordinates. It is not shared with anyone outside the company except where the law requires it.

Where it lives

In Peak's own job-management systems. Those run on Netlify for hosting and application data, and on Cloudflare R2 for photo storage. Job-site photos are also filed to CompanyCam, the job-photo service we use for project records. These providers host the data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Time, payroll and job records are kept as long as we need them for tax, employment-standards, warranty and safety purposes. Location trails are working records tied to billing and are kept only as long as a job could reasonably be questioned, then cleared in the normal course.

Your choices

You can turn location permission off at any time in iOS Settings, and the app keeps working. You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep. Ask the owner directly, or email info@peakelectricalcontracting.ca.

When you leave Peak

Your sign-in link is revoked and the app stops working on your phone. Your past work records stay in our books as long as employment and tax law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and tell the crew directly before the change takes effect.
